PET Blower Air Pressure Drops: Compare Demand and Delivery
A compressor display can look stable while pressure at the blower falls during demand peaks. Compare synchronized measurements at defined locations and reference conditions. High-pressure blowing air and low-pressure control air must remain separate in the investigation.
Follow the observed pattern
| What you observe | What to compare next |
|---|---|
| Compressor pressure is stable, blower pressure falls | Compare synchronized supply and machine-inlet trends, dryer and filter conditions, and network configuration. Pressure loss under flow requires a different review from a static reading. |
| Several users peak together | Align blower demand, other consumers, compressor loading and receiver behavior. Ask the air-system designer to assess simultaneous demand using the required reference-air basis. |
| Only startup or recovery is affected | Record the sequence after a stop and the actual air-system readiness signals. Check the agreed operating envelope with the OEM before changing limits or adding storage. |
Evidence to send with a support request
Send pressure trends with units and gauge or absolute basis, instrument positions, demand timing, air-system schematic and recent maintenance. Reference-air volume and compressed pipe volume are not interchangeable; preserve air-quality requirements during capacity review.
Illustrative diagnostic comparison
If supply and inlet pressures are read at different times, their difference cannot establish network loss. A synchronized event that repeats at the blower inlet is stronger evidence. Receiver sizing or a compressor upgrade still requires a system-specific design review.
Confirm the next action
Record the bottle, cap and material lot; machine and format recipe; time, speed and operating state. Separate direct observations from suspected causes. Preserve an unchanged comparison and identify who approved any trial.
- Record the approved change, comparable before-and-after observations, defect counts with their denominators, and quality or maintenance approval. A symptom disappearing once does not establish a durable correction.
- Repeat the check during the operating state that originally produced the defect. Keep restart losses and rejected product in the record; a faster machine reading alone is not proof of improvement.
Use approved site procedures and the machine manual. Isolate energy before physical inspection or clearing a jam; never bypass guards or interlocks. Quality personnel decide containment and release of affected product. These guides do not prescribe universal pressure, temperature, torque or cleaning settings.

Required evidence — High- and Low-Pressure Air Network for PET Blowing
| Input or result / Unit | Evidence to request | Substitution to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Reference air per bottle (L (reference conditions)) | Ask for per-bottle air use with the bottle format, operating case and declared reference pressure and temperature. Retain the measurement or supplier test basis. | Reference litres and compressed operating volume are not interchangeable. A consumption number without its reference conditions cannot be matched reliably to a compressor supply figure. |
| Bottle rate (Bottles/h) | Identify the counted bottle boundary and the exact observation interval. Retain opening and closing counter readings, accepted quantity and operating mode so the hourly rate can be reproduced. | A machine nameplate rate, instantaneous display and accepted output over a shift are different records. Do not substitute one for another without stating the change of basis. |
